1. Analyze and plan production schedules, processes, documentation, tools, plant and computer software to ensure that these operate effectively and are appropriate to meet production targets. 2. Recommend modifications to production processes to ensure that production standards are maintained and improved to meet production and quality targets. 3. Review and evaluate new and existing equipment and processes to ensure that they are operating accurately and meet production requirements and standards. 4. Review the engineering process and cost implications of proposed new products. 5. Recommend any necessary changes to the layout of plant, machinery and production processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness and product quality. 6. Devise and implement inspection, testing and evaluation processes and methods for any new equipment, materials or components to ensure that they are of the required standard. 7. Maintain an awareness of developments in the field of production engineering to ensure that the company continues to apply the most effective processes and equipment.

1. Plan, organize and control all maintenance work within the company to ensure that plants and equipments are maintained to the required standards of quality and availability. 2. Monitor the maintenance budget to ensure that all costs are kept within the agreed limits. 3. Maintain a regular liaison with other functions to ensure that plants and equipments are available to meet operational requirements. 4. Plan a preventive maintenance schedule and ensure that all necessary maintenance is carried out at the appropriate time. 5. Supervise and train all maintenance staff to ensure that they carry out their duties effectively and maintain effective working relationships. 6. Monitor all maintenance work to ensure that it complies as scheduled with all health and safety requirements. 7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all plants and equipments and identify and resolve any issues relating to maintenance procedures, plants or equipments. 8. Control stock and maintain contact with the appropriate stores personnel to ensure that an adequate supply of spares and equipments are maintained. 9. Regularly review all working practices, procedures and equipments to ensure that they are the most efficient and effective available.
